WHAT IS ANDROID ??

- Android is a Linux-based operating system developed for Mobile Phones/Smartphones and Tablets. It was devloped by ANDROID INC.Android, Inc. was founded in Palo Alto,California in October 2003 by Andy Rubin (co-founder of Danger), Rich Miner (co-founder of Wildfire Communications, Inc.), First Android Phone came into market in October,2008.
Android is open source and Google releases the code under the Apache License.

- The causes of Android being famous worldwide are its User Interface, Ccompatibilty, More than 7 lacs apps on Google Play.
Its programmed in C,C++ and JAVA.

ANDROID VERSIONS -

You will note an amazing thing about Android version names........Got it..let me tell you, Android versions names are based on food stuff/ snacks in Alphabetical order like CUPCAKE, DONUT, ECLAIR, FROYO, GINGERBREAD, HONEYCOMB, ICE CREAM SANDWICH, JELLY BEAN.....then guess wats next??
Here Android 1.0 and later upto 1.6 its not sure about their names in alphabetical order..different sites do tell different things..
